University of Utah Intermountain Burn Center
The Intermountain Burn Center was added to the University Of Utah in 1976. It takes in 350-400 burn patients each year. It also has 4500 outpatients each year. It also tries very hard to educate people about burns and what to do when burns happen, and how to treat them.

The Importance of DonationsThe burn center relies a lot on donations to keep patients and their family members comfortable. Family members stay at the burn center for a really long time. The initial visit right after the burn can take a really long time, as the wound is cleaned and assessed. All this time the family members are in the waiting room. This is why the burn center provides things like a snack room. Family members who might not have the money to eat at the University can have food. Blankets and toys are also helpful to comfort new patients, and make them feel loved.
