Thank You! |
Thank you so much to all my sponsors! I would not have been able to donate snacks to the burn center without the money
Reflection...
I chose my topic because someone I know was severely burned and went to the burn center. I was really grateful for all the burn center did, so I decided to make a difference by helping them. I was also amazed by how many people the burn center helped. I was incredibly impressed with all they did.
As I worked on this I learned much more about the burn center. I learned how much of a difference the burn center makes. It helps so many people and does a really good job. It made me understand how much of the staff here sacrifices. I have learned a lot about the burn center, it's employees and the difference they make.
I am a very shy person, so taping flyers to people's doors, collecting donations, and walking into a completley unfamiliar place was all very terrifying. I learned to focus more on who I was doing this for. It also helped that someone I knew had been helped a lot by the burn center. I had a lot of fun taking pictures and learning all about the burn center once I learned about this.
I collected snacks and donated them to the burn center. These snacks were placed in a room where patients and there families can get free food. Sometimes, families are there for hours. They may even need to stay overnight as their family member is being analyzed and treated. They sometimes so not have the money to buy food from the cafeteria. They might not be there for long but, they still get hungry. The snacks that I encouraged people to donate are now feeding people who might be going through the worst day of their life.
